Univé sponsor of the 2010 IPC Swimming World Championships
Univé sponsor of the 2010 IPC Swimming World ChampionshipsThursday, December 17, 2009

From 15th until 21st August 2010 the IPC Swimming World Championships will take place in the Pieter van den Hoogenband Swimming Stadium in Eindhoven. During this international tournament swimmers with a disability will be able to compete at world level with their fellow swimmers. Insurance company Univé has decided to become a sponsor of this unique event.

Univé values sports highly and is also a 1% FairShare partner of Fonds Gehandicaptensport (Dutch Fund for Disability Sports). This means that the insurance company spends 1% on sports of people with a disability on top of their sports sponsoring budget. While signing this agreement, Univé's brand manager Mr Fons Roosenboom explained why Univé considers sports for people with a disability so important. "Sports and exercise are important for everybody. Sport is a way to unwind and gives you energy. It gives you the chance to go to the limit or to relax. We support this fantastic initiative because it allows us to help develop sports facilities for people with a disability. Furthermore, it connects well to our involvement with the European Championships Swimming 2008. People fraternise through sports, it's healthy and fun pastime. Everyone has a right to that, disabled or not."

Univé naturally wishes all swimmers the best of luck and above all a lot of enjoyment in their sport!
